Creamy Cucumber Salad recipe with Sour Cream and Dill
This creamy cucumber salad recipe is easy, refreshing, and crunchy made of cucumbers, red onions, dill, and sour cream dressing

Measuring cup used 1 cup = 250 ml
- 1 long english cucumber thinly sliced
- ½ small onion thinly sliced
- ⅓ cup sour cream (or plain Greek yogurt)
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill chopped (or 1 teaspoon dill weed)
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- juice of half lime (or 1 tablespoon distilled white vinegar)
- salt and black pepper to taste
- ½ teaspoon sugar (or stevia), optional
Using mandoline or sharp knife thinly slice the cucumbers.
In a large bowl, whisk together the sour cream, fresh dill, minced garlic, lime juice, salt, sugar, and pepper.
Then add the sliced cucumber, onion, and toss the salad to combine. Adjust the seasoning at this stage.
Serve immediately or chill the salad until ready to serve.
Tips & Variations
- Use a mandoline to get super thin slices of cucumber.
- You can add any herbs like parsley, cilantro, chives, or green onion instead of dill.
- If you do not have lime juice, use vinegar.
- If you don't have sour cream at home, try replacing it with greek yogurt. Or use any combination of sour cream, greek yogurt, or mayonnaise.
- You can also add other vegetables like tomatoes, bell peppers, avocado, shredded carrots to this salad.
