This easy Homemade Buttermilk Ranch Dressing is perfect over salads. You can also serve it as a dip for veggies or chips - healthier than store-bought. This Recipe yields about 1 cup dressing.
In a jar or bowl, whisk together sour cream, mayonnaise, buttermilk, fresh herbs, garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper until smooth. At this stage, taste and adjust the seasonings to your liking.
Serve it immediately or transfer it to an airtight container and store it in the refrigerator until ready to use.

Tips & Variations
If you don't have buttermilk, you can make a homemade buttermilk substitute by combining a teaspoon of lemon juice with ½ cup of milk.
You can replace lemon juice with apple cider vinegar for extra tartness.
Both fresh herbs and dried herbs work great for this recipe.
To make spicy ranch dressing, add a little cayenne pepper or red chili powder for a kick.
