Stovetop Instructions

  • Here are steps to cook coconut rice on a stovetop pot. The rice to coconut milk water ratio will remain the same for the stovetop.
Rince, the jasmine rice 2-3 times until the water runs clear (removes extra starch), and drain the remaining water.
Combine canned coconut milk, water, and salt in a large pot and bring it to a boil on medium heat.
Then add the rice, and stir to combine. Reduce heat to medium-low, and simmer for about 18-20 minutes – until rice is fluffy and liquid has been absorbed.
Remove from heat and allow the rice to sit for another 5 minutes. Fluff the rice with a fork, and you are ready to serve.
