Heat 1 teaspoon of oil in a Kadai. Add cumin (jeera) seeds. Let them splutter.
Then add green chilies, tender drumstick leaves, and salt. Saute for a few seconds till drumstick leaves shrink. Cool the mixture before adding to the yogurt.
Whisk the yogurt or curd in a large mixing bowl.
Add sautéed drumstick leaves mixture, black salt, and black pepper powder, mix well.Taste at this stage to make sure the amount of salt and spices is enough.
Moringa/Drumstick leaves Raita is ready, Serve chilled.
Notes
Adding milk to the yogurt helps it from turning sour. If you are using fresh yogurt then skip it.
You have to saute moringa leaves, raw moringa doesn't taste great with this raita.
You can also make tempering of mustard seeds, cumin, green chilies, curry leaves, and then saute moringa leaves and add to yogurt for a variation.
To make it Keto friendly use Greek Yogurt.
