Bread Palak Vada

Bread palak vada is crispy and crunchy fritter recipe made with bread crumbs, spinach, and a few other ingredients, great for an evening snack.

Bread is a very common pantry ingredient used in every household. Be it for breakfast, lunch, or snack you can make various dishes with it.

Next time if you are wondering what to make with the leftover bread, try these bread palak cutlets, they are so delicious and easy to make.

They are best to have with your evening tea or serve to your kids for an after-school snack. Try it, you will surely love it! Recipes using bread are bread upma, sandwiches.

How to make Bread Palak Vada

  • Firstly, Grind the bread slices in a mixer grinder to make fresh bread crumbs.
  • Finely chop spinach, mint, onion, ginger and green chilies.
  • In a large mixing bowl, add all ingredients and mix well to make a soft dough.(add water as required)
  • Make a small ball and gently press to flatten.
  • Keep the oil in a deep frying pan.
  • Make sure the oil is hot for frying. Drop the mixture in oil in bunches.
  • Stir them occasionally.
  • Fry them till golden brown colour. (appx takes 7-8 minutes)
  • Serve Bread Palak Vada immediately.

Serving Suggestions

Serve bread vada hot, with masala tea and ketchup. They also taste great with coconut chutney.

Variations

  • You can either use white or brown bread to make bread crumbs.
  • You may also use store-bought bread crumbs.
  • Air Fryer: Preheat the air fryer at 180 degrees and place all the bread palak vadas in the basket. Air fry them for 8-10 min until golden and crispy.
  • You can also substitute palak with kale.

Ingredients
  

  • 1.5 cups palak/spinach finely chopped
  • 1 cup bread crumbs appx 3 bread slices
  • ½ teaspoon ginger finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies finely chopped
  • few pudina/mint leaves finely chopped
  • ½ teaspoon cumin seeds/jeera
  • ½ teaspoon jeera powder
  • ½ teaspoon chat masala powder
  • ⅓ cup rice flour
  • ¼ cup onion
  • few cashew nuts chopped
  • lemon juice
  • salt to taste
  • oil for frying
