Homemade watermelon juice blended with fresh mint leaves and lime juice is so refreshing and a perfect summer drink recipe.
Summer is almost here. Watermelon is one of my favorite summer fruits. Watermelon is one of the most hydrating foods and contains more than 90% water. It is also rich in iron, vitamins A and C, lycopene, and potassium.
This watermelon juice has a cooling effect and is naturally sweet, refreshing, and hydrating, making it the perfect summer drink for outdoor pool parties, potlucks, and picnics.
This watermelon Juice with Mint and Lime is similar to a drink served throughout Mexico known as watermelon agua fresca, made with fresh watermelon, lime juice, and sugar, all blended into a delicious drink.
Ingredients
- Watermelon: Choose a ripe and sweet watermelon for the best flavor.
- Lime Juice: Use freshly squeezed lime or lemon juice for added tanginess. It is entirely optional.
- Mint Leaves: Optional. It is added for a refreshing flavor.
- Seasoning: I used black salt, you can add regular salt or just skip it.
How to Make Watermelon Juice with Mint and Lime
Place everything into a blender and blend until smooth.
If desired, pour the juice into the fine-mesh strainer in a large bowl. Press the pulp with a spoon to extract all the juice.
Serve immediately with some ice cubes or chill it for an hour in the refrigerator before serving.
Tips & Notes
- Look for a super-ripe seedless watermelon for the best flavor. If your melon is not sweet, you can also add sweeteners like sugar, stevia, honey, or maple syrup while blending.
- Pour leftover juice into mason jars and store in the refrigerator for up to three days. It will settle and separate a bit, just make sure to stir before serving.
- To make a slushy version, you could freeze the watermelon cubes in advance and then blend them with some ice cubes.
