This 5 Minute Pineapple Dessert recipe is one of the quick and most effortless recipes you'll find anywhere. It is a no-cook/bake dessert recipe made with canned pineapples, cool whip, and condensed milk. So delicious!
I had never tasted this dessert made using canned pineapple earlier. But, thanks to my friend Gouri, who introduced this dessert a few years back.
At Dhwani's 3rd birthday party, I made this easy four ingredients creamy pineapple dessert, and it was a big hit with kids and adults. I served this up in mini parfait cups and added some whipped cream and a piece of pineapple on top. Yum!
It just requires 4 ingredients, and it is ridiculously easy to whip up this creamy and delicious dessert. It makes a perfect party, potluck, or picnic dessert. This dessert is a keeper!
Ingredients
The ingredients needed for this dessert recipe are pretty simple.
- Pineapple - Use a 20-ounce can of crushed pineapple + 20-ounce can of pineapple chunks + their juice as the base of the dessert. I prefer to use the Dole brand.
- Condensed milk - for sweetening and creaminess.
- Cool whip - It makes the dessert fluffy and creamy. Homemade whipped cream or whipped topping can be used, if you prefer.
How to Make Easy Pineapple Dessert
In a large mixing bowl, add crushed pineapple, chopped pineapples with juice, condensed milk, cool whip (or whipped cream), and fold everything until well combined.
You can also reduce the quantity of Cool Whip according to your preference. For example, I like to use ¾ of 8oz Cool Whip containers.
Chill the dessert in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
Tips & Variations
- Feel free to add chopped nuts like pecans, cashews, almonds, or walnuts.
- You can also make the same dessert by replacing pineapple with canned mandarin oranges or canned peaches.
- You can also add Instant Pudding (Vanilla flavor) mix to this recipe to make Pineapple Fluff.
- I do not recommend making this dessert using fresh pineapple.
Recipe FAQs
Yes! This is a great dessert to make ahead of time, and refrigerate for a few hours ahead of a party or potluck.
Leftovers will keep good for 3-4 days in the fridge in an air-tight container. You can still eat them after that (for another 3 days), but they start to separate and become runny.
We do not recommend freezing this dessert recipe.Â
If Cool Whip is not handy, you can use whipped cream or whipped topping instead. You can also use plain Greek yogurt, but the taste won't be the same.
No worries, place canned pineapple chunks into your food processor (or blender) and pulse a few times until the texture resembles crushed pineapple.

We made this today for our Seniors. We used the triple recipe. It turned out to be delicious! I would rather it had some other bonding ingredient or maybe it didn’t chill long enough. We added coconut and chopped leftover walnuts then topped it with blueberries. I used pineapple bits in the large 10# can. I separated the juice so I could crush the fruit part way in the food processor. The flavor was wonderful! We did have to tell everyone it wasn’t cottage cheese, lol, it was dessert. It was great to savor & enjoy. Lots of compliments!

Can u use fat free vanilla pudding instead of condensed milk
Bhavana Patil
Hi Mary, Condensed milk is added for the sweetness and to get rich taste to the dish. I am sure replacing vanilla pudding also tastes great in this dessert. Do let me know if you give a try.
