This Air Fryer Roasted Beets recipe is so easy to make and delicious. Great side dish or a salad topper and is vegan/vegetarian, whole30, paleo-friendly.
Ingredients
You will only need a few basic ingredients to make this recipe
- Beet - You can take 4 small-sized (or 3 medium-sized) red beets weighing about 1 pound. Cut them into medium-sized pieces so that they will cook evenly and quickly.
- Extra-virgin olive oil - is ideal for roasting, adds richness, and helps to crisp up the beets in the air fryer.
- Salt & Pepper - I have used only salt and pepper for seasoning.
How to Roast Beets in the Air Fryer
Firstly, wash and clean the beetroot with water and pat them dry. Peel the beets and cut them into medium-sized pieces, roughly the same size for even cooking.
Transfer the beetroot to a medium-sized bowl. Add olive oil and season with salt, and pepper. Toss them well, so they are all coated with the seasoning.
Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Add the seasoned beets to the basket of the air fryer and spread them in a single layer (cook in batches if required).
Air fryer them at 375°F (190°C) for 14-16 minutes or until they are fork-tender. Shake the basket halfway through. Mine was cooked perfectly in 14 minutes.
Roasted Beets are ready. Serve them immediately with a tasty dipping sauce on the side.
How to Roast Beets in the Oven
Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the seasoned beets evenly in a single layer.
Bake at 400ËšF for 20-25 minutes, tossing occasionally or until beets are fork-tender.
Serving Suggestion
These air-fried beets can be enjoyed as is, added to a salad, or served as a side dish with a tasty dipping sauce on the side. They can also be enjoyed as a side dish with Indian meals such as dal tadka, jeera rice.
Seasoning Variations

- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Ground cumin
Storage Instructions
You can store your roasted beets, in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Pro-Tips & Notes
- Cut them the same size: This helps for quick and even cooking.
- Work in batches. Make sure to spread the beets in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving some space between each other. Cook in batches if needed.
- Shake the basket halfway: It's important to shake the basket halfway through to allow the beets to be cooked evenly.
- Serve them right away: These crispy roasted beets get soft as they sit and cool.
- The exact cooking time will vary based on the air fryer being used.
