Ingredients

- Kale - You can use any variety of kale for this kale chips recipe, such as curly, Tuscan, or red Russian kale. I have used organic curly kale, as they are much better suited for chips.
- Extra-virgin Olive Oil - is ideal for roasting, adds richness, and helps to crisp up the kale in the air fryer.
- Seasoning - I used only garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
How to Make Kale Chips in an Air Fryer
Firstly, wash and clean the kale with water and dry it with a paper towel. Next, cut the leaves from the thick stem and roughly tear the leaves into bite-sized pieces.

Drizzle some olive oil on top of the kale in a medium bowl. Then add the garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss until fully coated.

Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Add the seasoned kale to the air fryer basket and spread it in a single layer (cook in batches if required).

Air fry them at 375°F (190°C) for 4 minutes or until they are crisp and done without burning. Shake the basket halfway through.

Crispy kale chips are ready (they will crisp up more as they cool).

How to Oven Bake Kale Chips
Preheat the oven to 300°F (148˚C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the seasoned kale evenly in a single layer, ensuring chips don't overlap.
Bake at 300˚F for 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway through, till they are crispy and done. Make sure they don't burn. Let them cool to room temperature before serving.
