What Is Dry Fruit Milkshake?
Dry fruits milkshake, as its name implies, is a delightful and nutritious beverage made by blending various dry fruits with milk. Dry fruits such as almonds, cashews, pistachios, raisins, and dates are commonly used to make this milkshake. You can adjust the quantity of dry fruits as per your preferences.
The dried fruits and nuts are first soaked in water for a few hours or overnight and then blended with the milk. Excellent for all ages, a summer chiller, and an energy booster, this drink is just perfect. This drink is an energy booster, a summer chiller, and perfect for all ages.
Ingredients
- Dry fruits: I used almonds, cashews, pistachios, raisins, dates, and figs.
- Milk: Use whole milk for a creamy, thick milkshake. You can also use plant-based milk like almond milk, soy milk, or cashew milk.
- Cardamom: Cardamom powders add a nice sweet aroma to the milkshake.
- Sweetener: I did not use any sweetener in this recipe. However, you can add sweeteners like sugar, honey, or maple syrup.
How to Make Dried Fruit Milkshake
Soak the mixed dry fruits like badam, cashew, pistachios, raisins, dates, and dried figs in hot water for about an hour or overnight.
Drain the water, peel the badam, and discard the skin.
Blend the soaked dry fruits with ½ cup of milk until you get a smooth paste.
Then add the remaining milk, cardamom powder and blend until you get a creamy milkshake.
Note: If you have a high-speed blender like Vitamix, then add all the ingredients, like soaked mixed dry fruits, milk, and cardamom powder, to the blender and blend until you get a smooth and creamy texture.
Pour the milkshake into glasses and serve chilled with some chopped nuts on the top.
Serving Suggestions
Garnish the dried fruit milkshake with the chopped nuts of your choice.
You can also serve this milkshake along with a sandwich for morning breakfast for your kids.
Storage Suggestions
This milkshake tastes best when consumed fresh. However, leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one day.
I do not recommend freezing this dried fruit milkshake, as it can get separated when thawed and lose its texture and flavor.
