Dry fruits milkshake is a creamy, healthy, and delicious drink recipe made by blending dried fruits and nuts with milk and cardamom powder.
Dry fruits are recognized as nutritional powerhouses. Almonds, raisins, cashews, walnuts, dates, and apricots are just a few examples of widely found dry fruits with long shelf lives and health advantages.
But did you know that combining a few of these dry fruits can benefit your health in various ways? Yes, you heard it right! There are many healthy recipes in which you can use a plethora of dry fruits like badam milk, and banana date smoothie. Today, I am sharing a wonderful recipe that uses several dry fruits, known as Dry Fruits Milkshake.

What Is Dry Fruit Milkshake?
Dry fruits milkshake, is a delightful and nutritious beverage made by blending various dry fruits with milk. Dried fruits and nuts such as almonds, cashews, pistachios, raisins, and dates are first soaked in water for a few hours or overnight and then blended with the milk.
You can adjust the quantity of dry fruits as per your preferences. Excellent for all ages, a summer chiller, and an energy booster, this drink is just perfect.
Ingredients
- Dry fruits: I used almonds, cashews, pistachios, raisins, dates, and figs.
- Milk: Use whole milk for a creamy, thick milkshake. You can also use plant-based milk like almond milk, soy milk, or cashew milk.
- Cardamom: Cardamom powders add a nice, sweet aroma to the milkshake.
- Sweetener: I did not use any sweetener in this recipe. However, you can add sweeteners like sugar, honey, or maple syrup.
How to Make Dried Fruit Milkshake
Soak the mixed dry fruits like 2 tablespoons almonds (badam), 2 tablespoons cashews, 2 tablespoons pistachios (unsalted), 2 tablespoons raisins, 4 dates (pitted), and 2-3 dried figs in hot water for about an hour or overnight.
Drain the water, peel the badam, and discard the skin.
Blend the soaked dry fruits with ½ cup of milk until you get a smooth paste.
Then add the remaining 1.5 cups of milk, and ¼ teaspoon cardamom powder and blend until you get a creamy milkshake.
Note: If you have a high-speed blender like Vitamix, then add all the ingredients, like soaked mixed dry fruits, milk, and cardamom powder, to the blender and blend until you get a smooth and creamy texture.
Pour the milkshake into glasses and serve chilled with some chopped nuts on the top.
Storage Suggestions
This milkshake tastes best when consumed fresh. However, leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one day.
I do not recommend freezing this dried fruit milkshake, as it can get separated when thawed and lose its texture and flavor.
Tips to Make the Best Nut Milkshake
- Soak the dry fruits: Soaking the dry fruits in water for a few hours or overnight will help them soften and blend more easily, resulting in a smoother milkshake.
- Peel almond skin: The skin of almonds can be slightly bitter and may affect the taste and texture of the milkshake.
- Sweetener: I did not use any sweetener, but you can use sweeteners of your choice, like sugar, coconut sugar, maple syrup, and honey.
- Ice cream: You can also add a scoop of vanilla ice cream to make the shake thicker and creamier.
- Use any dried fruits: You can use any combination of dry fruits that's available to you to make this milkshake.
Variations
- Add Fruits: You can add fruits like apples, bananas, strawberries, or mangoes, along with dry fruits and milk.
- Add Chocolate: You can add a tablespoon of cocoa powder along with milk and dry fruits to make a rich, chocolate dry fruits milkshake.
- Spices: You can add a pinch of cinnamon, nutmeg, or saffron to make a spiced milkshake.
- Oats: You can add Oatmeal to make a filling and healthy breakfast milkshake.
