Tips for cooking Pumpkin in the Air Fryer
- Be sure to use a culinary pumpkin like sugar pumpkin, and not the 'field pumpkins' meant for carving or decorating.
- Cut the pumpkin evenly: To ensure quick and even cooking of all the chunks.
- Preheat the air fryer: it helps the food to cook evenly, and also, food hits high heat immediately to get crisp edges.
- Don’t overcrowd the basket: Make sure to spread the pumpkin in a single layer without overcrowding the basket otherwise, they may start steaming instead of crisping. Cook in batches if needed.
- Shake the basket halfway: It's important to shake it halfway through to allow the pumpkin to be cooked evenly.
- Serve them right away: These crispy roasted pumpkins get soggy as they sit and cool.
- You may also get a store-bought pre-cut pumpkin and use it in this recipe.
- You can also cut the pumpkin as fries or wedges. Cooking time may vary depending on the size of the fries or wedges.
