This Blueberry Banana Smoothie recipe is easy, healthy, and delicious made with blueberries, banana, peanut butter, and almond milk and is excellent for breakfast, brunch, or a healthy snack. It's Vegan and Gluten-free.
Ingredients for Blueberry Banana Smoothie
You need very few ingredients to make this healthy Blueberry Banana breakfast smoothie.
- Blueberry: I have used frozen wild blueberries, which help to thicken the smoothie. However, you may also use fresh blueberries but make sure to add ice cubes to make it thick.
- Bananas: should be very ripe to get a smooth and velvety texture. Fresh or frozen, both work.
- Milk: I've used almond milk in this smoothie, but you can use dairy, soy, oat, or any other type of milk. You can also use yogurt in place of milk.
- Peanut butter: Is added to get extra protein and to make the smoothie rich and creamy. You may also use almond butter instead of peanut butter.
- Sweetener: I have used one Medjool date in this recipe but feel free to add sweeteners of your choice like maple syrup, honey, or agave. It's optional.
