Here are a few ingredients for the Air Fryer Chickpeas recipe.
- Cooked Chickpeas - I have cooked my Instant Pot Chickpeas for this recipe, or use 1 can of chickpeas drained & rinsed.
- Extra-virgin olive oil - is ideal for roasting and helps to crisp up the chickpeas in the air fryer. You may also use avocado oil or any other oil with a higher smoke point.
- Spices - I have used garlic powder, onion powder, red chili powder (or smoked paprika, cayenne), salt, and freshly ground pepper to give this air fryer roasted chickpeas a nice flavor.
How to Make Crispy Roasted Chickpeas in Air Fryer
Dry chickpeas: Pat the chickpeas dry using a paper towel - this helps make them as crisp as possible.
Season: In a medium bowl, drizzle some olive oil over chickpeas and season with garlic powder, onion powder, red chili powder, salt, and pepper. Toss them well until well coated.
Preheat: Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Add the seasoned chickpeas to the air fryer basket and spread them in a single layer (cook in batches if required). Spray some oil on top if required.
Air Fry: Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 12-14 minutes or until crispy. Shaking the basket a couple of times. Mine was cooked perfectly in 12 minutes.
Serve: Take them out and adjust the seasoning. Serve while the roasted chickpeas are still warm and crispy.

Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the seasoned chickpeas evenly in a single layer. Bake at 425˚F for 20-30 minutes, tossing occasionally or until golden brown and crispy.

- Tex-Mex: Use 2 teaspoon of taco seasoning or fajita seasoning
- Italian: Use 1-2 teaspoon of Italian seasoning and ½ teaspoon of salt
- Cajun: Use 1-2 teaspoon cajun seasoning and ½ teaspoon of salt
- Cinnamon-Sugar/Honey: use 1 tablespoon sugar or honey combined with ½ teaspoon cinnamon, and then toss chickpeas in the seasoning after roasting.
