This Chipotle copycat avocado guacamole recipe is super easy, healthy, delicious, and takes less than 10 minutes to make.

Avocados are packed with healthy fats and are undeniably delicious—truly as good as it gets. Even better, they’re incredibly versatile and can be used in a wide range of dishes, from avocado cucumber salad and avocado chutney sandwich to avocado papdi chaat and more. One of the most popular uses is in guacamole, the classic Mexican dip made primarily from mashed avocados.
Other Mexican dishes from my blog are Mexican black beans, homemade tomato salsa, Mexican rice, and chipotle cilantro lime rice.

What Is Guacamole?
Guacamole is a delicious Mexican dip prepared with mashed avocados, onions, cilantro, lime juice, and other spices. It pairs perfectly with a variety of foods, including tortilla chips, nachos, burritos, toast, and more.
Ingredients
- Avocado: I used ripe Hass avocados. You can use any variety.
- Onions: Use red onions for the best flavor.
- Lime Juice: Use freshly squeezed lime or lemon juice. It also helps the avocados from turning brown.
- Garlic: Optional. But adds a great flavor.
- Seasonings: Salt and pepper.
How to Make the Best Avocado Guacamole
Using your knife, cut around the seed and twist, which will separate them into two halves. Using a spoon, scoop out the flesh.
Use a fork or a potato masher to mash the avocados to your desired consistency in a mixing bowl.
Add onions, jalapeño, minced garlic, cilantro, lime juice, salt, and black pepper, and mix until well combined. (If adding tomatoes, add them at the very end since they release moisture).

Serving Suggestion
Serve guacamole with tortilla chips, quesadillas, or nachos. Leftovers can be used to make guacamole sandwich or avocado toast.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, guacamole is considered to be very healthy and nutritious! It is packed with nutrients like healthy fats, vitamins, and fiber.
Instead of being black and matte or light green, a ripe avocado is lustrous and dark green. Avocados should not be extremely soft or black. Test it by giving it a gentle squeeze with your palm, not your fingertips, while holding the avocado in your hand. The avocado will yield slightly while still staying solid if it is ripe.
Even if you buy an unripe one, place it in a brown paper bag or rice bag, and it will ripen in 2 days.
To create a barrier with the air, drizzle a thin but noticeable layer of water or lemon/lime juice over the guacamole. Put the guacamole in a sealed bowl or cover the dish with plastic wrap, pulling the wrap down so it is level with the avocado.
