Let's learn how to make a very flavourful, aromatic Street Style Paneer Biryani recipe. Serve it with onions and raita for weekend lunch or dinner.

Explore easy vegetarian paneer biryani made on the stovetop that your family will love and can be made with leftover rice.
How to make Paneer Biryani Street Style
- First, cook the basmati rice in Instant pot or stovetop pot and keep it aside.
- Heat oil in a pan, add onion slices, cook until golden brown in colour, approximately takes 8-10 minutes.
- Move the sauteed onions to one side, and then in the same pan, add oil, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste, red chili powder and saute for 1 minute.
- Then add green chilies, chopped mint, yogurt, coriander powder, biryani masala powder, and stir well for another 2-3 minutes.
- Add fried paneer, squeeze lime juice, salt, and add cooked basmati rice, toss it.
- Now pour saffron milk uniformly over the rice (soak a pinch of saffron stands in 2 tablespoons of warm milk)
- Cover the lid and let it steam for 2 minutes, then switch off the flame.
- Garnish with coriander leaves & serve hot paneer biryani with raita.

Serve Street Style Paneer Biryani with Raita or any kurma on the side.
Notes:
- I have shallow-fried the paneer before mixing it in the Biryani.
- If you are vegan, substitute dairy yogurt with any plant-based yogurt.
- You can also add some vegetables along with paneer.

Ingredients

- ½ cup mint/pudina leaves finely chopped
- ½ cup curd/yogurt
- 150 grams fried paneer/cottage cheese
- 2 green chilies finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon ginger & garlic finely chopped
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 2 tablespoon biryani masala powder i used MDH hyderabad biryani powder note:reduce biryani powder if you want less spicy.
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- salt to taste
- ½ teaspoon sugar optional
- 2 tablespoon saffron milk (optional) saffron milk (optional)
- 3 tablespoon oil
