    Avocados are a powerhouse of health and unquestionably tasty, which is as good as it gets. Avocados, sometimes known as the 'alligator pear' or the 'butter pear,' have some unusual names due to their bumpy, green, and pear-shaped appearance. It is a fruit that resembles a berry and contains just one spherical seed. 

    What's best? They can be used in a plethora of dishes. Salads, bread, chaats, and other foods are examples. And do you know what? Avocados are as essential to Mexican cuisine as pudina (mint leaves) are to Indian cuisine. The main component of guacamole, a typical condiment in Mexican cooking, is mashed avocado.

    What Is Guacamole?

    For those who are unfamiliar, guacamole is a delicious Mexican dip prepared with mashed avocados, onions, cilantro, lime juice, and other spices. It is ideal for a variety of foods, including tortilla chips, nachos, toast, and more.

    How to Make the Best Avocado Guacamole

    Using your knife, cut around the seed and twist, which will separate them into two halves. Using a spoon, scoop out the flesh.

    Use a fork or a potato masher to mash the avocados to your desired consistency in a mixing bowl.

    Add onions, jalapeño, minced garlic, cilantro, lime juice, salt, black pepper, and mix until well combined. (If adding tomatoes, add them at the very end since they release moisture).

    How To Store Leftover Guacamole And Keep It Green?

    To create a barrier with the air, drizzle a thin but noticeable layer of water or lemon/lime juice over the guacamole. Put the guacamole in a sealed bowl or cover the dish with plastic wrap, pulling the wrap down so it is level with the avocado.

    Instead of being black and matte or light green, a ripe avocado is lustrous and dark green. Avocados should not be extremely soft or black. Test it by giving it a gentle squeeze with your palm, not your fingertips, while holding the avocado in your hand. The avocado will yield slightly while still staying solid if it is ripe. 
    Even if you buy an unripe one, place it in a brown paper bag or rice bag, and it will ripen in 2 days.

    • ½ large roma tomato seeds and pulp removed, chopped (optional)
