Sattu Sharbat is a popular drink recipe in Northern India, made with sattu powder (roasted Bengal gram flour). It can be prepared both savory and sweet. It is served in hot summer months for its cooling properties.
With summer approaching, I enjoy making easy, refreshing drinks like sweet lassi, masala chaas (spiced buttermilk), or nimbu pani (Indian lemonade) on those scorching days.
Recently, I tasted a sattu drink at a friend's place who is from Bihar and instantly loved it. Sattu, a superfood, is perfect for maintaining a cool body temperature in the heat. While there are so many recipes you can prepare using this magical ingredient, sattu sharbat has become one of my favorites this summer.
Today, I am sharing both savory and sweet versions.
